About the training

IPMA D – The ideal start in project management

IPMA-D is the ideal certification for novice project managers and experienced project staff who want to deepen their knowledge with a strong theoretical foundation. During the programme, you will acquire knowledge in all areas of project management and learn to critically examine your own functioning within projects.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the internationally recognised IPMA-D certificate and may use the title ‘Certified Project Management Associate’ perform.

The training combines theory, reflection, practical assignments and case studies. Through homework and a mock exam, you practice further with the material.

What does the IPMA-D training course entail?

The training is given over 4 days and covers the following themes, among others:

Arrange and furnish

How to start and manage a project, focusing on communication, the business case and stakeholder interests.

Project finance

Basic knowledge of financial support and making investment decisions within a project context.

Time in Projects

Drawing up schedules and using techniques such as network planning for effective time management.

Leadership and behaviour

Models for leadership, group dynamics, motivation, and effective communication within project teams.

Management is, above all, a practice where art, science, and craft meet.

Self-assessment

Mandatory component: the Self-assessment

For the exam, you will complete a self-assessment as a mandatory step in the process:

What is the Self-Assessment?

In the Self-Assessment, you assess yourself on the competency elements of ICB4. It is intended as a reflection on your performance within projects and serves at least 2 weeks before the exam to be handed in. The assessment will not be graded, but is a mandatory step to be eligible to take the exam.

What is expected of you?

In addition to the contact days, the programme also requires your own commitment:

Self-study

In addition to contact hours, you should allow for 20 to 40 hours of self-study to fully process the material and prepare for the exam.

E-learning (optional)

You can get 3 months of access to an IPMA e-learning platform to help you prepare optimally for the exam. This is an optional addition to the training.

Exam information

The theory exam consists of two parts and lasts a total of 3 hours. Upon successful completion, you will receive the internationally recognised IPMA-D certificate.
